Elena Frasca is researcher in Modern History at the University of Catania.
She has studied the history of the institutions, deepening the relationships between universities and urban power in the South Italy of eighteenth and nineteenth century, focusing on cultural and scientific or charity associations.
She has studied the diaries of travelers in Sicily between the eighteenth and nineteenth century, emphasizing the relationship between the discovery of the classical and contemporary political issues.
She has investigated the criminal law in the nineteenth century in the Bourbonic South Italy.
Her interests have focused mainly on the Faculty of Medicine in the modern age, the role of physicians and surgeons, and their relationships with the urban political life.
