Concetta PIRRONE
Concetta Pirrone, PhD, is an associate professor working in the Department of Educational Sciences at the University of Catania. Her academic background includes a number of different qualifications and experiences. She began her education by obtaining a master's degree in 'Pedagogy' at the University of Catania. Building on this foundation, she obtained a second master's degree in 'Clinical Psychology' at the Kore University in Enna. Her academic career continued with a Diploma of Advanced Studies (DEA) in 'Social Psychology' at the prestigious Ecole des Haute Etudes en Sciences Sociales, in Paris, and also obtaining a PhD in 'Foundations and Methods of Formative Processes' at the University of Catania. Throughout her career, Professor Pirrone's research has encompassed a broad spectrum of topics within the field of General Psychology. Since the beginning of her career, she has worked on cognitive development, focusing on relationship among LEGO paly (building block play) cognitve development and logico/mathematic skills. His research involves collaboration with multiple institutions including: the Seton Hall University in the College of Education and Human Services, Department of Education Leadership, Management, & Policy (USA), the Departamento de Didáctica e Investigación Educativa Universidad de La Laguna, the ELLIADD Laboratory (EA 4661) University of France-Comté (France), the Campus des métiers et des qualifications Microtechniques et Systèmes Intelligents (France) isititutions at which she has been invited several times to present lectures. Professor Pirrone has also devoted her expertise to the assessment of cognitive function in individuals, both children and adults, with rare metabolic genetic diseases and immunodeficiency. In recent years, collaboration with international colleagues has broadened the field of research in the area of emotions. Her studies include areas such as self-esteem, emotional intelligence, emotion regulation and anxiety in different populations, including children with dyslexia, teachers and adolescents. Furthermore, in line with the study of the affective domain, she has developed a strong interest in depressive disorders and innovative statistical analysis techniques, in particular Network Analysis. Currently, professor Pirrone is actively involved in several research projects at the University of Catania, taking on the role of supervisor. Her current projects focus on adult ADHD, autism spectrum disorder and their comorbiditie, and on Mental Imagery.

Throughout her career, Professor Pirrone's research has encompassed a broad spectrum of topics within the field of General Psychology. As an expert in Public Speaking, Effective Communication and Body Language, She holds training courses on these issues both within the university and outside.
