Learning Objectives

The aim of the course is to provide students with an introduction to the main basic assumptions concerning the psychology of work and its applications in the field of guidance and career counseling, the aim is to acquire useful elements related to the design and to the application of interventions in this area. The topics covered will be broad in order to provide both basic and applicative knowledge: history and development of work psychology, work motivation, job satisfaction, career, psychosocial risks, Life design, social inclusion, job orientation, career guidance intervention tools. In particular, this last topic will be further explored to explain the main topics of the methodology of counseling and career counseling.

Birth and development of work psychology, career; the motivation; the skills; research methods in work psychology differentiation and evolution of orientation psychology and career counseling; theoretical reference principles for interventions; the career construction theory.
