Donatella Stefania PRIVITERA

Donatella Privitera, is Full Professor of Tourism Geography at the Department of Educational Sciences, at the University of Catania, Italy. She is Coordinator of of the Bachelor's degree in Tourism Sciences (2020). She became associate professor and full professor in 2015 and 2018, respectively. At present she is teaching economic geography with a speciality in sustainable cities, tourism and local development. Her current scientific fields of research are: food tourism and smart tourism; local development and territorial impacts; sustainable cities. Prior to becoming a fulltime academic, she has had work experience in a multinational company in marketing area (Kraft General Food s.p.a., Milan, Italy). At present, she is teaching economic geography and implication with tourism and regional development. Since November 2020  she is Coordinator of the Bachelor’s degree of “Tourism Sciences”, University of Catania, Italy. She is a membership served on several Committees (including PHD “Processi Formativi, Modelli Teorico-Trasformativi e Metodi Di Ricerca Applicati al Territorio”, Department of Educational Sciences, University of Catania.), Research Centers and editorial boards including  of several international journals, such as International Journal of Sustainable Economies Management (IGI Global, USA); Ottoman: Journal of Tourism and Management Research (ISSN 2149-6528); Economic insight. Trends and Challengs (Petroleum-Gas);Central European Journal of Geography and Sustainable Development. She has presented paper at several conferences, published in international books. Authors of more than 120 publications, with 2 monographies, edited books, paper in scientific journal and chapters in books. She has participated in EU project and she is participating in cooperative national research projects. She is reviewer of several national and international journal.
