Expected Learning Outcomes

Through laboratory activities, students are expected to:

Develop autonomy in applying educational methodologies and strategies by designing and planning activities related to early childhood educational practices from a historical-evolutionary perspective;

Be able to relate their knowledge and skills to different types of sources and materials from historical memory;

Be able to collaboratively discuss the strengths and limitations of their personal ideas and contributions;

Practice forms of professional reflection in early childhood educational-didactic contexts, in order to cultivate a culturally advanced and critical, flexible, and dynamic vision of their professional profile.

Course Structure

The laboratory activities will be conducted by prioritizing active learning methods, through collaborative activities in small groups.

Required Prerequisites

In order to acquire essential knowledge for understanding early childhood educational practices and to have adequate theoretical and methodological references, the study of the contents of the course on the History of Pedagogy and Early Childhood Education is indispensable

Attendance of Lessons

Attendance is mandatory. It will not be possible to take the exam for the course without first completing the laboratory with a satisfactory evaluation.

Detailed Course Content

The laboratory activities, introduced by a brief description of the possible materials, historical sources, and documentation sites, will be conducted both individually and in groups. Finally, the results will be presented and discussed in a plenary session.

Learning Assessment

Learning Assessment Procedures

The students will present and submit the work produced during the practical activities, along with a final product that will be subject to a performance evaluation. The laboratory is mandatory and a prerequisite for taking the exam in the History of Pedagogy and Early Childhood Education.
